What We Do‎ > ‎

Therapies

When deciding to attend a counsellor or therapist, it can be helpful to know about the different therapies that we provide. Although all can be effective, you may find one approach more appealing or appropriate than another.

The Foundation offers various types of therapies, such as

  • Person Centered Counselling
  • Thought Field Therapy
  • Play Therapy
  • Youth Counselling

Person Centered Counselling is a form of talking therapy where the counsellor creates a comfortable, non-judgemental environment. It uses a non-directive approach and empowers you to find solutions to problems.

Thought Field Therapy is a treatment that can heal a variety of mental and physical ailments through specialised tapping with the fingers at meridian points on the upper body and hands. This is said to release energy blockages that cause negative emotions.

Play Therapy is a way for children to express and work through their experiences and feelings through play.

Youth Counselling will help you look at coping mechanisms and strategies for a variety of issues and increase self confidence.

An initial appointment will be set up with the Client Support Worker to discuss the different therapies we provide, giving you an informed choice.
