Last night's Charity Ball could not have been more successful...
There was a very big turnout of 157, "party-goers"!
The Bothwell Bridge Hotel provided a great setting for the event and the standard of the catering was first class.
Colin's band led by his goodself just gets better and better... And the auction went very very well... But perhaps the best thing was the atmosphere of the event - everyone so
warm and so friendly - which made for a really great party!
Warmest thanks to the superb team that organised the event - Gillian , Bill, Anne and everyone else who supported them.
The evening was marred only by the fact that Bill, having put so much into the event, was incapacitated and was unable to come.
Sandra , compered the event in Bill's place and we had to find
substitute auctioneers - Bill was very much missed but the show was able
to go on. Sandra herself was in great form - and put in a superb performance,
hiding the fact that she has sustained a bad leg injury recently while
in West Samoa...
We are so lucky to have Colin, providing not only excellent music but
contributing to the event with his warm, welcoming personality...
All in all, truly a "swell party" which will not only have raised
funds for our charity but will, I think, have made a very positive
impression of the charity to those who attended it.
