"Sins of the Fathers" was a successful conference held in September, 2002, at the Tudor Hotel, Airdrie.

Speakers included Ray Wyre, Ann Lindsay, and Helen Holland, a former nun and survivor of Nazareth House who made an eloquent plea for the 498 victims currently represented by Cameron Fyfe to receive an apology from the Church. Ann's story was featured in a BBC Scotland report by Kirsty Wark, and Helen and Sandra Brown met each other when both featured in the STV series " In Confidence" where each was interviewed by Catherine Devaney. Keynote speaker Ray Wyre made a significant impression on conference delegates, who were surprised to hear he had originally trained for the priesthood before achieving enormous professional standing in the field of sex criminology, and becoming recognised as the foremost authority in the UK thanks to his work at the Gracewell Clinic and with the Lucy Faithfull Foundation.

Press articles about the conference and the interest it generated for the 150 people who attended appeared in Scotland on Sunday 29.9.02 and in The Times 30.9.02

Scotland's foremost female playwright, Liz Lochhead, whose version of "Medea" won a Fringe First at the Edinburgh Festival, 2001,has been a Patron of MAF since the launch of the charity in February 2000. Liz produced a stage play based on Sandra Brown's book "Where There is Evil" which received a professional read through at the Tron Theatre, Glasgow on October 20, 2002.

An excerpt from a Glasgow Herald article by Keith Bruce, Arts Editor, details how Liz Lochhead found the story of Moira Anderson's disappearance climbed into her mind and motivated her to tell the tale "Little Girl Lost" in her own remarkable way.
